The Lucky Biz Podcast Episode 25: Wrapping Up 2023 - What We Achieved, What We Loved & What We Learnt

Hey hey! It's Naomi and Louise from Lucky Night Studio, and we're here to wrap up Season 1 of The Lucky Biz podcast and bid farewell to 2023 in our final episode of the year. Today, we're taking a moment to reflect on the big moments of the year, sharing our experiences, and setting the stage for what's to come in 2024. Exciting, right?

For those who might be new to Lucky Night Studio or tuning in for the first time, let us give you a quick recap of our story. The two of us have been best friends for over a decade, and in 2021, we ventured into business together, offering one-to-one services like web design and branding. We had a successful start, but eventually, burnout hit, leading us to take a social media hiatus and marketing for about six months.

In the early months of this year, we decided to change up our approach. We relaunched Lucky Night Studio with a focus on a more passive income model, introducing website templates, courses, and occasional one-to-one projects. The aim was to maintain profitability without being chained to our desks 12 hours a day like we had been.

This podcast episode dives into our pivotal decision to work with Squarespace for website templates. Driven by client feedback and our own positive experiences with the platform, we recognised the need for a user-friendly platform. It was super interesting for us to discover that there's a demand for DIY solutions, challenging the assumption that everyone wants to delegate tasks.

We explore the value of our templates, offering guidance and a tailored approach, especially for female-founded small businesses. The discussion touches on the significance of guided content prompts within the templates, debunking misconceptions about Squarespace's basic options. We draw parallels with Canva, underlining the importance of design assistance, even for those without an intricate understanding of the craft.

In wrapping up the episode, we promise to share the "Good, the Bad, and what we've learned" throughout this journey. It's a comprehensive look at our entrepreneurial experiences, offering insights into Lucky Night Studio's evolution. As we say goodbye to 2023, we're eagerly looking forward to what lies ahead in 2024 and beyond. Here's to progress, growth, and more exciting ventures on the horizon!
